Codreanca - New variety of vineyards

The new variety of vineyards with a very early ripening term (110-115 days), created as a result between Moldova and Marsaliskii varieties.

This variety is getting popular onto the market of the early varieties thanks to the great and beautiful grape, of the large, oval-oblong grain, and of the its fine-attractive taste. The grapes of this variety have a high level of transportation and can reach any region in the CIS.

It has a high frost resistance, which allows its cultivation in the south part of republic as an unprotected culture.

The variety is very receptive to the use of irrigation and soil fertilization. Productivity: 12-13 t / ha. Average weight of the grapes: 440 g, grain average mass: 5-6 g.
Priorities: increased resistance to manna, powdering, antracnose, and grey rot.

Frost resistance: -22 ° C.

Vineyard planting material. Niagara variety

Launched in Concord town, Massachusetts, in 1849, by Ibrahim Bull, on the basis of selection of wild forms of Vitis labruska.

The variety has wide adaptation ability and it gives good results when growing in different climate zones on a wide range of soils. It is characterized by strong growth and high productivity.

It ripens in late September. The leaves are large and medium-sized, slightly cleaved, three-leaf or one whole, very much hung down. It has an open, wide and arched leaf knot. Its flower is hermaphrodite. It has a medium-sized cluster, made of large blue-black grains, covered with an intense pruina. It is a typical representative of the Vitis labruska variety, with all its features.

The grain has a hard peel, which can be easily separated from the mucosal contents of the grain. The specific «strawberry» fragrance makes this grape variety easily recognizable by taste.

It is spread in the East and Midwest of the United States and Canada, where it is used for producing grape juice, jelly, dessert wines and table grapes. The variety derived from the production of this type of grapes, makes it one of the most economically interesting varieties in these regions.

The grapes are well kept after harvesting, for a month or two. It is the leading American variety for the production of the grape juice, but a part of the crop is used as table grapes. It is resistant to the grey rot and oidium, it overcomes open frost down to -32 Celsius degrees. It is practically immune to the bacterial cancer.
