Italy (Bican x Muscat Hamburg)
A variety of table grapes created in Italy by Professor A. Pirovano, in 1911, as a result of crossing between the varieties Bican and Muscat Hamburg.
It is one of the best varieties of table grapes in the world. The grapes are big, conical-pyramidal, with one or two wings; the average weight reaches 10-12 g; pretty thick and dense peel, of a fine yellow-gold colour, with a layer of pruina. The pulp is crisp and juicy, with a strong flavor of Muscat with 1-2 seeds.
It is a table variety with late ripening period. As many as 155-160 days pass from the opening of the buds till the full ripening of the grapes; the amount of the active temperatures: 3,200-3,250 ° C.
The vine has a vigorous growth, requiring careful adjustment of the load. The fertility of the twigs is high.
Variety is not resistant to frost (down to -18 º C); it is allowed for cultivation in the places well supplied with heat; it is a typical variety of table grapes with very beautiful and great grains.
It excellently supports transportation over long distances, maintains freshness when refrigerated and it is highly appreciated by consumers.
